Privacy policy

AfterPrompt is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no ads or tracking cookies. We collect limited, pseudonymous product analytics to understand whether the games, sign-in, Jev, and credit purchases work. This page lists everything we do collect. From the agent plugin

When your coding agent works for a while, the plugin creates a game session on our server with the game ID, the agent’s name (for example “claude” or “codex”), and timestamps. It never sends prompts, code, file paths, or transcripts. Sessions are deleted automatically after 24 hours. The plugin keeps its own state, a log, and a separate browser profile in ~/.afterprompt on your computer. We never see them. If the macOS app is installed, the plugin opens it with a local afterprompt:// link that contains only the game and session ID.

When you play

  • Account: your email address, or your Telegram user ID, display name, username, and profile photo when you open the Telegram Mini App; plus a random user ID, a player number, and an optional username you choose.
  • Authentication: short-lived email codes or Telegram-signed Mini App launch data, plus account sessions. Email codes are stored only as hashes and expire after ten minutes.
  • Scores: your best verified run per level: move count, whether undo was used, and when. We replay the moves to verify them, then keep only the result.
  • Challenges: when you create one, we keep its level, verified move count, undo mark, creation time, and the player name shown when it was created. Anyone with the link can see it and play the same level.
  • Your device: local storage holds level progress, commit trees, and sound settings. The iOS and macOS apps also store their account session so you stay signed in.

Usernames, player numbers, and best scores appear on public leaderboards. A challenge link is public and keeps its creator’s display name until that account is deleted.

When you use Jev

Jev, the autoplay assistant, sends each game state to an AI model: the board or structure, the legal moves, Jev’s earlier moves in that run, and your coaching instruction if you wrote one. It runs on Cloudflare Workers AI through Cloudflare AI Gateway. The gateway keeps request logs, tagged with your user ID and whether free or paid credits paid for the move, so we can charge credits, prevent abuse, and debug Jev. Don’t put personal information in coaching instructions.

To give a trial without an email, Jev creates an anonymous account: a random ID and a session, nothing else. If you later sign in, the trial is merged into your account and the anonymous one is removed.

In ChatGPT

When you open a game with the AfterPrompt app in ChatGPT, OpenAI sends our server the request to open it. If you choose to connect your AfterPrompt account, ChatGPT receives an access token for it, and we see which account is connected. ChatGPT may also send an anonymous user identifier, which we don’t store. What ChatGPT itself collects is covered by OpenAI’s privacy policy.

AI credits and purchases

We keep your paid credit balance, how many free credits you used each day, and a record of each pack you bought.

On the website and from the macOS app, payment happens in Paddle’s checkout. Paddle is the Merchant of Record and handles your payment details, email, and address under its own privacy policy. We receive the transaction ID, Paddle’s customer ID, the amount, and the currency, and store them with your player so the credits can be added, refunded, or restored. We never see your card.

Product analytics

We use PostHog in its EU region to record a small set of product events, such as opening AfterPrompt, starting or completing a game, using Jev, signing in, viewing a credit pack, and completing a purchase. Events use a random browser identifier or your internal account ID, plus the platform, screen path, game, pack, payment provider, and credit counts. We don’t send your email, Telegram profile, prompts, coaching text, or game state. Autocapture and session replay are disabled.

Service providers

  • Cloudflare hosts the site, its database, and game content, sends sign-in emails, and runs Jev (Workers AI and AI Gateway). It processes requests, including your IP address, and keeps short-lived logs to run and protect the service.
  • Telegram provides signed account details in the Mini App and handles Stars payments there.
  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces, so your browser requests them from Google.
  • Paddle handles web payments, as above.
  • Apple handles App Store payments, as above.
  • GitHub hosts the plugin and the macOS app download, so GitHub sees requests when you install or update them.
  • OpenAI runs ChatGPT, if you use AfterPrompt there.
  • PostHog stores and analyzes the limited product events described above in its EU region.

These providers process data in several countries, including the United States. We use them only to run AfterPrompt, and we never sell your data.

How long we keep it

  • Agent sessions: 24 hours.
  • Sign-in codes: ten minutes.
  • Account, profile, scores, challenges, credit balance, and daily Jev usage: until you delete your account.
  • Anonymous Jev trial accounts: until you sign in or ask us to delete them.
  • AI Gateway and hosting logs: only as long as needed to operate and protect the service.
  • Product analytics: retained under our PostHog account until removed under our retention settings or on a valid deletion request.

Deleting your account removes your purchase records from our database. Paddle, Apple, and Telegram keep their own records of the transaction as tax law requires.

Your rights

You can see and change your username in the account panel of any game, and delete your account there with Delete account. You can also email afterprompt@inchi.dev from your account email to see, correct, export, or delete your data, or to object to how we use it. We may send a fresh verification code before acting on the request. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

AfterPrompt is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we start collecting anything new, we’ll update this page and its date first.
